Regel uw gebruiksrecht voor ECW vandaag nog!
ECW is een krachtig beeldcompressie-formaat van ERDAS, wat zorgt voor een snelle weergave op hoge kwaliteit van luchtfoto's en andere rasterbestanden. Door de geavanceerde compressietechnieken van ERDAS IMAGINE en ER Mapper kunnen ECW's de informatie uit ruwe databestanden met een factor 20 of zelfs meer verkleinen, zonder visueel verlies.
Hiermee is ECW een ideaal formaat om te gebruiken in web-omgevingen, waar men immers te maken heeft met vele gebruikers die snel geografische informatie willen zien. Denk hierbij aan geo-portalen van gemeenten, waterschappen, provincies, maar ook aan business intelligence systemen in grote bedrijven en onderzoeksinstellingen.
Het ECW-formaat kan standaard worden geserveerd met de ERDAS APOLLO producten. Die voegen zelfs de mogelijkheid toe om ECW's streaming aan te bieden, waardoor de snelheid nog hoger wordt!
Ook voor andere server-omgevingen biedt ERDAS de mogelijkheid om ECW's te serveren, via het zogeheten ECW Right-to-Use programma. Dit omvat een organisatie-brede, jaarlijkse licentie om ECW vanuit bijvoorbeeld ESRI's ArcGIS Server te serveren. Imagem biedt deze licentie aan voor klanten in de Benelux, en kan zelfs de installatie van de benodigde DLL's voor u verzorgen, zodat u zeker bent van een werkende configuratie.
Het ECW Right to Use is uitsluitend beschikbaar voor niet-commerciële organisaties en voor het serveren van eigen data. Voor organisaties die hun serveromgeving willen inzetten ter dienste van derden (al dan niet betaald), danwel om een een commerciële applicatie te ontwikkelen en/of te vermarkten is er de ECW / JPEG SDK.

Get your ECW Right-to-Use today!
ECW is a powerful image compression format developed by ERDAS, allowing you to display large aerial photographs and other raster files. By applying advanced compression techniques available in ERDAS IMAGINE and ER Mapper, ECW files kan reduce the file size of raw image material to around 5% or less, without visual loss.
This makes ECW the ideal format to use inside web environments, where large numbers of users want to see geographic information fast. Examples include geoportals inside municipalities, water boards, provinces, but also business intelligence systems in large companies and research institutes.
The ECW format can be served directly from the ERDAS APOLLO products. APOLLO even adds the ability of streaming of the ECW's, increasing the speed of delivery even further!
For other server environments, ERDAS also offers the possibility to serve out ECW, through the so called ECW Right-to-Use program. This is a yearly, organisation-wide license, allowing organisations to serve ECW from ESRI's ArcGIS Server and others. Imagem offers this license for clients in the Benelux area and can even do the installation of the required components for you, ensuring you of a working and ready to go configuration.
The special ECW Right to Use program is only available to non-commercial organisations and may only be used to serve your own data. For organisations that wish to provide serving capabilities to 3rd parties (paid or unpaid) or wish to develop and/or market a commercial application, there is the ECW/JPEG SDK.
