ERDAS and Open Standards

ERDAS has as strong commitment to the use of Open Standards, governed by the Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC). In development of our products, the support for these standards is a keystone.

This results in the fact that for example webservices created by ERDAS APOLLO, can be effortlessly used inside applications from third parties that also support these OGC standards.

Sinds 2011, the ERDAS products are legally part of the Intergraph family. At the OGC website for supported standards, this is where the ERDAS products will be listed from now on. Via this link you can check the current listing of supported OGC standards per version of ERDAS and Intergraph products.

The involvement of ERDAS in OGC goes beyond supporting the published standards. Employees of ERDAS are members of several committees actively involved in the development of new standards. ERDAS is also part of the OGC Planning Committee and for many years has been a part of the Board of Directors, as well as heading the European department of the OGC.

In the Netherlands, there is an initiative called 'Nederland Open in Verbinding' (NIOV). This initiative aims to stimulate the use of Open Standards by government agencies. Imagem, as ERDAS Distributor for the Benelux, has signed the Suppliers Manifest for Open Standards. In doing so, we underline our commitment to propagating and using these standards in the Netherlands.

More information on this initiative can be found on this page (in Dutch).
