Historic Research
When you are determining soil quality and polution, filling of ditches or embankments, do you want to know how things were earlier in time? Historic aerial photographs are a valuable addition to building archives, environment studies and other reports when mapping these activities. A great advantage of historic imagery is the ability to get an impression of the area of interest by looking at previous states, before visiting the location. For historic research you can now make use of historic aerial photographs. The first aerial photographs of the Netherlands date back to 1937, made by the Dutch Cadastre. Our partner Dotka Data cooperates with the Cadastre to digitize its archive of historic photographs. Also other historical geographic materials are made available this way. This has led to a large database of imagery and maps, from 1815 to 2010. You can order photographs from a particular era and area digitally from Dotka Data, creating your own time slider for your area of interest.
